Create a Sequence

Follow these steps to create a sequence.

A sequence can have multiple steps. Each step can contain multiple objects, but those objects can only belong to only one step at any point in time. Empty steps without any objects are discarded when the sequence is saved.
  1. Load one or more models in Trimble Connect for Windows 3D Viewer.
  2. Open the Sequence Tab.
  3. Create each Step by selecting some objects and selecting Add Step.
For each step that is added, a View will be added to the View Group. The View Group will maintain the order which the Steps (Views) are created in. The order of Views inside the View Group determines the order of steps.
Note: As you add objects to the steps they will be hidden when you go to the next step in the Sequence.
  4. To add more objects to steps:
    1. Select the step you want to add objects to.
    2. Select the objects in 3D.
    3. Select Add Object.
  5. Add notes or instructions into the Instructions field for each step.
  6. To delete steps from a Sequence, select it and select the X icon
The step will be deleted, along with the corresponding View in the Sequence's View Group. Any objects in the step become available to be used in other steps.
  7. When you are finished, select Save.
You will be prompted to share the Sequence with other users.
  8. Select Ok.
A new View Group will be added to your Views Strip.
Sequence View Groups will have the Sequence icon in the right corner.
Note:
  • If no steps were added as a part of a Sequence the corresponding View Group will be removed when you exit the 3D Viewer.
  • After the Sequence is saved, the Metadata.mrdb file will be created at the project root folder. This file is necessary for the sequencing feature to work as expected. Users are expected not to explicitly work with this file.
  • When the user opens a project, if the Metadata.mrdb file already exists in the project, the user must wait until the Project sync is complete. After the sync is complete, the latest sequence details will be available.
