Rich Text

B2W Estimate supports rich text formatting for item descriptions, bid form notes, RFQs, and terms and conditions.

Use rich text within item descriptions, notes on bid forms and RFQs, and within the terms and conditions that appear near the bottom of your private bid forms.

The rich text toolbar controls are accessible when visiting any of the following areas and having the Edit & Tools command tab selected:

  • Listing tab and Detail tab within the Item Databases area
  • Item Listing tab within an estimate
  • Item Pricing tab within an estimate
  • Estimate Detail tab, when a pay item or indirect item is selected on the tree view
  • Bid Form tab, within the Terms and Conditions area and within the Bid Form Introduction
  • Send Sub/Vendor RFQs Tab, within the Notes and Attachments area
  • Options dialog, when viewing any of the four pages within the Terms and Conditions folder
Attention: Rich text is supported only for "item only" views. If you are using a "cost structure" view and edit an item description, it will revert to plain text.

Notes about Rich Text

  • When you save an estimate item as an item template, rich text formatting is preserved.
  • Rich text is visible on bid forms and RFQs, but not on other reports.
  • Rich text is ignored when exporting to accounting or project management applications.
  • While technically possible to copy/paste rich text into rich text fields in B2W Estimate, this is neither tested nor supported.
  • Keyboard shortcuts such as CTRL+B, CTRL+U, and CTRL+I are allowed and supported.
