Manually Link Trimble ID to Your Portal Profile

If the Vista Web portal cannot automatically link your Trimble ID to your portal employee user profile, you can manually link your accounts using your employee number and a one-time PIN.

This manual linking process also applies to linking Viewpoint ID to your portal profile.

The portal attempts to automatically match your Trimble ID to your Vista Web profile upon login. If an automatic match cannot be established, follow the steps below to manually link your accounts. To learn how automatic profile matching works, see Vista Web Native Trimble ID Users.

If the portal cannot automatically match your Trimble ID to your Vista Web profile, follow the steps below to manually link your account using a one-time PIN.

If your email address is on more than one PR Employee record, select the correct employee account when the portal asks you to choose. Manual linking is unavailable when Disable Manual Link option when TID linking is enabled.

To manually link your Trimble ID to your portal profile:

  1. On the Vista Web login page, select Sign In with Trimble ID.


    You will be redirected to the Trimble Sign In page.

  2. Enter your email address, select Next, and continue through the Trimble ID login process.
    Once you have gone through the process, you will see a message explaining that your accounts could not automatically link: We were unable to associate your Trimble ID user with your employee user. You can either contact your administrator to ensure you're set up properly or follow the steps below to manually link.
  3. Select your company and enter your Employee Number. Select Verify.

    You should receive an email or a text with a single-use PIN.

    If there is information missing from your account, you will see an error. In this case, contact your administrator for assistance.

  4. Check your email or text messages, and enter the six-digit number into the PIN field.
  5. Select Link User.
You should be successfully linked to your Trimble ID account and logged in to the portal. If you want to verify that your account is linked, see Identify Username and Trimble ID Status.
Note: If you attempted to reset your password but did not finish the process before your organization updated to this latest 25.6 version, you need a new PIN in order to successfully complete the password reset.
Note: If your profile header displays a legacy username (such as b.kuenzi1.yy7) instead of your email address after signing in with Trimble ID, your VA User profile in Vista is missing your PR Company and PR Employee numbers. Contact your system administrator to update your VA User Profile record in Vista so your profile details display correctly on your next login.
