Cost Category Breakdown Dialog

The Cost Category Breakdown dialog enables estimators to define the level of granularity for indirect, overhead, and profit calculations by specifying whether percentages are applied to total resource costs or individual sub-categories.

When you choose a calculation method for indirects, overhead, or profit that involves entering percentages for individual cost categories, the Cost Category Breakdown dialog allows you to specify the level of detail at which you will be entering those percentages.

Indirect, overhead, and profit calculation settings may each have their own unique cost category breakdowns. For example, when setting a calculation method for overhead, you may indicate here that you will be entering a single overhead percentage on the total labor cost category, but when setting a calculation method for profit, you may want to indicate that you will be entering unique profit percentages for both the labor base and labor burden cost categories.
