Options Dialog - Cost Components, Crews, Work Rules page

Use the Crews, Work Rules page to create and configure custom crew configuration schemes, including specific settings for costing, production hours, and labor overtime breakdowns.

To navigate to this section of the Options dialog, select the Edit & Tools tab, select Options (Options > Tools Options in the Estimate area), and open Cost Components > Crews > Work Rules.

The Crews, Work Rules page allows you to create and configure an unlimited number of work rules to meet your company's specific needs. A work rule is a stored crew configuration scheme which contains settings for costing hours, production hours, and labor overtime and double time breakdowns.

Production HR/DY The value you enter here represents the default number of productive hours per crew day for crews using the displayed work rule. Production hours per day are taken into account for summary purposes, and are instrumental when a crew's production method is set to either UM/PH or PH/UM.
Equipment HR/DY This value represents the default number of daily costing hours for equipment in crews using the displayed work rule. Unless you specify otherwise inside a crew, all crew equipment will be costed at this number of hours for each day.
Labor - Calculate HR/DY

Work rules allow B2W Estimate to keep track of the exact number of regular hours, overtime hours, and double time hours per day for labor types inside a crew using the displayed work rule. The Calculate HR/DY checkbox controls the level of detail at which you can configure these hours.

Example:

  • When the Calculate HR/DY option is disabled, type an average daily value in the Regular HR/DY, Overtime HR/DY, and Double time HR/DY fields:

  • When the Calculate HR/DY option is enabled, B2W Estimate calculates your average daily values when you enter a unique value in the Regular HR/DY, Overtime HR/DY, and Double time HR/DY fields for each day of the week:
