Quadri 2027.1

See below for the Quadri release notes, which describe new features, enhancements, and fixes.

This update is also included in Novapoint 2027.1.

Release date: 21.10.2026

General

  • ENHANCEMENT: Updated the Properties pane interface to provide a modernized look and feel that aligns with panes such as Explorer and Process Info.

  • FIXED: Quadri port scanning for Connectors, such as Novapoint and Civil 3D Connector, now starts at port number 55001. The port for connectors can be set in the registry key by value DCMPort:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Trimble\Novapoint\DCMConnect

Quadri will also do a port scanning to connect with Trimble ID, which still starts at port 49152.

  • FIXED: The link to download Coordinate System Manager in the error message "No coordinate system database found" has been updated.

Insert

Import Files

  • ENHANCEMENT: LandXML Import to IFC4 model - Importing a Railway alignment from LandXML to an IFC4 model, the Settings dialog now contains options for Cant rotation point, Rail head distance and if Force positive should be used. These options are needed for a correct import of the cant.

  • FIXED: The application stopped working when importing certain TRB files originating from the NavisWorks format (NWC).

  • FIXED: In some cases, the filtering option for GeoTIFF import did not filter the grid size correctly.

Orthophoto

  • NEW: You can now select orthophoto files from a folder in a Trimble Connect project. For more information, see Orthophoto.

World Map

  • NEW: World Map - a new tool found in the Insert Geospatial Reference Data chunk. World Map lets you use Trimble Maps and drape it on selected terrain. This can further on be included in 3D presentations and publishing models to Trimble Connect. For more information, see World Map.

Modify

Automation

  • NEW: The "Add value by geometry calculation" action is now included.

  • NEW: A new toggle-button at the bottom of the rule set list dialog to hide/unhide rulesets that are "ON HOLD".

  • NEW: A new filtering action, "Object Network Location", has been added.

  • ENHANCEMENT: The wording used in the tool has been improved.

  • ENHANCEMENT: The "Synchronize Attribute Values" action is now improved to handle multiple master objects.

  • ENHANCEMENT: In the "Modify Object" action, the functionality for removing property values and deleting genericPropertyList elements has been improved, including the support for the "CSV loop" action with blank cells in the CSV file.

  • ENHANCEMENT: The "Select Object Type" filter action now includes the possibility to define the object IDs as a filter criteria.

  • FIXED: The "Map Object Type to Attribute" action did not work as it was supposed to. This has now been fixed.

  • FIXED: The Object Shape Location filter is now working as expected.

  • FIXED: The user is now prevented from editing the project rules.

Relations

  • NEW: It is now possible to open the Relation Tool in view mode. This is the default right-click menu option: "Open" in the Explorer.

  • ENHANCEMENT: When adding or removing objects to a group with relations to other objects, the corresponding relations for the added/removed objects are now also updated.

  • FIXED: For Quadri.IFC models: It is no longer possible to create duplicate IfcMaterial objects with the same name.

  • FIXED: Objects created in the Relation Tool had a blank start date value for the valid time period. The start date is now set when a new object is created.

Connectors

Quadri Connector for SketchUp

  • FIXED: Reference object was duplicated when the task was edited in SketchUp.

IFC 4.3

IFC Import

  • NEW: Geometry for Spatial Breakdown (SBS) Entities (tasks) is now supported. When importing and exporting IFC files, the SBS geometry is included. The SBS geometry properties are shown in the property view for the SBS tasks. The SBS geometries are included in presentations and views. For more information, see The IFC Workflow guide. The settings are explained in Import IFC Files and Export IFC 4.3 files.
  • ENHANCEMENT: The import of a Quadri.DCM model into a Quadri.IFC has been improved. For example, the handling of terrain surface and ground layers has been improved.

  • FIXED: In some situations, the attribute conversion view showed up blank. This has now been fixed.

Spatial Breakdown Structures

  • ENHANCEMENT: IfcGeomodel is now included in the default spatial breakdown structures for the design tasks of Road and Railway.

IFC Export

  • NEW: An option to include validation of the exported IFC file is now available in the Export Settings dialog. If this option is turned on, the exported IFC file is validated according to the validation rules set up by buildingSMART International in their Validation Service. The validation result is reported in the Process window.

  • ENHANCEMENT: In the Conversion Rule Editor, Option - Multi Destination: The functionality for splitting one model object into more exported objects has been improved. It is now possible to split out objects without geometry. It is also possible to split out more objects with the same geometry. For Quadri.IFC models, the functionality for handling of the objects with IfcRelAggregates relations has been improved.

  • FIXED: It is now possible to define the IfcRelVoidsElement relationships for physical objects in the Conversion Rule Editor.

  • FIXED: When clipping was activated for exported objects with assigned classification, the classification was lost. This has now been fixed.

  • FIXED: In the Conversion Rule Editor, the change detection functionality deciding when the different cells are shown up with green color has been adjusted.

  • FIXED: Properties named "color" are now ignored when the automatic conversion of property values is turned on. This is done to prevent the export of wrong colors that are not the model's shape colors.

  • FIXED: Some issues related to the geometry representation of parametric geometry (sweep, extrude) have been fixed.

  • FIXED: Several issues related to the export of the object's color have been fixed.

Presentations

  • FIXED: The navigation buttons in presentation windows were distorted. This has now been fixed.

Output

  • FIXED: An error in Publish 3D, where surface slope markings were assigned wrong coordinates in Trimble Connect has been fixed.
