Use Trimble Assist

Sign in to Trimble Assist, choose an agent, and start a conversation.

Trimble Assist is where you use the agents built in Trimble Agent Studio. The experience is the same in the standalone web app and in Assist embedded inside a Trimble product, so the Assist UI stays familiar and your conversations stay with you as you move across applications that have Assist integrated.

The sidebar icon rail includes New Chat, Search chats, Agents, Conversations, and Settings. Select Edit sidebar to switch between Nested and Classic layouts. Pin a conversation from its row menu.

  1. Open assist.ai.trimble.com and sign in with your Trimble ID.

You see the agents that were shared with you.

  2. Select the agent picker under the greeting to switch agents, or select Explore agents below the message box and select Browse agent gallery (My agents and Shared with me).

Select Create Agent below the message box to open Trimble Agent Studio and build a new agent. If an agent you expect is missing, you have not been granted access to it. Ask the agent's admin.

Each agent has its own address in Assist, ending in /agent/ and the agent ID. Agent creators open it from Trimble Agent Studio with Try in assist, and can bookmark or share it.

  3. To use a skill, type / in the message box and pick a skill, or select + and choose Skills. The skill stays active for the rest of the conversation.
  4. Ask in natural language, or select a prompt under Try asking.
    • Conversation starters under Try asking were written by the agent's creator. Select one to send it.
    • When the creator offers several models, a model picker sits in the message box. Heavier models reason better, and lighter ones answer faster.
    • Answers use rich formatting. Agents with knowledge libraries can cite their source documents.
    • Context carries within a conversation, so a follow-up such as "and for steel?" works. Switching topics is a good moment for a new conversation.
    • The footer states that AI can make mistakes, so check results that matter. It also links the agent's AI Trust and Transparency Card, which lists its base models, hosting, data sources, and safeguards.

  5. To attach files or start a new chat, select + in the message box. The menu includes New Chat, Upload image(s), Upload file(s), and Skills.

You can also drag documents onto the message box or paste them, then ask the agent to summarize a report, compare two specifications, or read the values from a photo.

    • The upload options appear only when the agent's creator allows images or files and the agent's model supports them.
    • The model sets how many images or files per message, the maximum size of each, and the accepted formats. Assist tells you when a file type is not supported, a file is too large, or you attached too many.
    • In Assist embedded in another Trimble application, that application must also turn uploads on. If you do not see the + icon options there, ask that application's team.
  6. Select Conversations in the sidebar to resume, pin, or delete a saved conversation from the row menu.

Conversations are saved automatically, and only you can see them, not the agent's creator. If your access to an agent is revoked, your conversation history with it becomes inaccessible too.

  7. Rate an answer when the option is offered.

Feedback lands in the agent's Operate views in Trimble Agent Studio, where creators read it to improve instructions and knowledge. A short comment on why an answer was wrong is the most useful signal.
