360 Capture

Capture and attach videos to drawings to document project progress.

Note: The 360 Capture module is available as an add-on for Enterprise users in North America and the UK. Permissions are set in the web application.

These sections detail best practices for capturing 360 photos and videos, plus supported cameras and environments. For additional information on 360 Capture, see Take a 360 Capture, Connect to 360 Capture from your home page, and Connect to 360 Capture from a drawing.

Supported environments

  • Photos: supported on any drawing, indoor or outdoor
  • Videos: supported for architectural drawings only. Outdoor videos are not yet supported. Architectural drawings have a 360 video icon to make them easy to identify.

Supported cameras

  • Insta360 X3
  • Insta360 X4
  • Insta360 X5

Capture best practices

  • Use a hardhat mount or selfie stick to keep the camera above your head.
  • Use a lighting rig when working in the dark.
  • Walk slowly but purposefully, as if you're holding a full cup of a hot liquid.
  • Walk in loops or figure eights. 360 Capture works best if it can identify a pattern.

Your first capture

  1. Ensure the 360 camera is on.
  2. On your mobile device, ensure Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are enabled on the mobile device.
  3. In the mobile device settings, enable Location Services for ProjectSight.
  4. Confirm the drawings you want are already downloaded on your device.
  5. Near the bottom of the device page, select Take a 360° capture and link it to the drawing.
  6. When you see the name of the camera, select Connect. It may take a few minutes to find your camera.
  7. Select a drawing.
