About Vendor Management
The Vendor Management module provides a systematic workflow for material procurement, enabling estimators to organize Request for Quote (RFQ) groups, distribute bid invitations, and evaluate vendor pricing for final assignment.
B2W Estimate's Vendor Management module streamlines the process of working with vendors in larger estimates. It provides an easy way to create Request For Quote (RFQ) groups, print, or email RFQs, enter vendor quotes, analyze vendor prices, and assign the appropriate vendor's prices to the materials in the group.
Step 1: Create your RFQ Groups
When using the Vendor Management module, your first goal is to create one or more RFQ groups that contain the materials for which you will be requesting vendor prices.
As each RFQ group will eventually be assigned to a specific vendor, the materials inside each RFQ group typically belong to the same general category. To this end, basing your RFQ groups on B2W Estimate material categories is recommended.
Step 2: Send RFQs to your vendors
After creating your RFQ groups, the next step is to send these request for quotes to the vendors that are on the list for each group. These requests may be printed or sent via email.
Step 3: Enter your vendor prices and adjustments
After your vendors have returned their completed RFQs to you, the next step is to enter their prices into B2W Estimate.
Step 4: Compare vendor quotes
Once the prices and adjustments for all vendors have been entered, the next step is to analyze and compare the data, in preparation for the assignment.
Step 5: Assign vendors
Once you have analyzed the prices from each vendor, B2W Estimate allows you to assign a vendor to all the materials in an RFQ group with a single select. Alternately, you can assign some materials to one vendor and other materials to another vendor.
