The Status Bar
The Status Bar, located at the bottom of the estimate window, is updated in real time as you work in an estimate.
The Status Bar, located at the bottom of the estimate window, is updated in real time as you work in an estimate. This information eliminates the need to manually recalculate the bid to get a feel for the current numbers. It displays totals for the estimate direct and indirect cost, bond, markup dollars, markup percent, and total bid price. The bar also indicates whether an audit trail is on or off.
Status bar display options
You have the option to display the Base Bid only or Base Bid & Change Orders by selecting the appropriate radio button at the top of the Status Bar Display page in the Options – Tools Options dialog.
Each panel of the Status Bar is described below:

| Bid Price |
This field represents the current estimate's total bid price, or {bid quantity * unit bid price} for all pay items. This is the price that is printed on the bid form. |
| Target Bid Price | This field represents the current estimate's target bid price. |
| Balanced Price | The total of the Balanced Prices for all Items in an estimate, where the Balanced Prices for the items are not derived using the markup distribution rules which the user has setup but rather a fixed set of rules which spreads the markup as closely as possible to where it derives from. | Bid Price Difference | The difference between the Target Bid Price the actual Bid Price. |
| Markup | The total markup dollars that are distributed into the estimate. |
| Markup % |
The markup as a percent of the total cost of the estimate, or (Total MU / Total Cost) * 100 |
| Margin % | The margin as a percent of the total cost of the estimate. |
| Direct | The total direct cost of the estimate. |
| Indirect | The total indirect cost that has been distributed into the estimate. This value may differ from the "calculated" value if all of the indirect costs have not been distributed. |
| Bond | The total bond amount that has been distributed into the estimate. This value may differ from the "calculated" value if the calculated bond has not been distributed into the estimate. |
| Total Overall Cost | The total overall cost of the estimate. |
| Total Man Hours | The total man hours of the estimate. |
| Total Direct Man Hours | The total direct man hours of the estimate. |
| Total Indirect Man Hours | The total indirect man hours of the estimate. |
| Total Crew Days | The total number of crew days in the estimate. |
| Tko Price |
Visible only in a "takeoff bid," this field represents the current estimate's takeoff price, or {takeoff quantity * unit bid price} for all pay items. This price is hypothetical only, and does not appear on the printed bid form. |
