Adds/Cuts Distribution Strategy Dialog
The Adds/Cuts Distribution Strategy dialog allows you to specify a default distribution scheme for all direct cost adds/cuts, or unique strategies for individual direct cost adds/cuts.
The Adds/Cuts Distribution Strategy dialog allows you to specify a default distribution scheme for all direct cost adds/cuts, or, unique strategies for individual direct cost adds/cuts:
- Select the Direct Cost Adds/Cuts node on the tree view.
- In the Distribution method field, select a method of distribution.
- In the Items to distribute into field, specify which pay items the value should be distributed to.
- If you have multiple direct cost adds/cuts in your current estimate, select the plus sign near the Direct Cost Adds/Cuts node. The individual direct cost adds/cuts will appear as child nodes.
- Select one of the direct cost adds/cuts child nodes.
- Specify whether the calculation scheme for this add/cut is the same as the parent's scheme (as configured in step 1) or a unique scheme of its own. If you choose a unique scheme, you may configure that scheme now.
- Repeat the process for all direct cost adds/cuts child nodes.
Distribution Methods
| Distribution Method | Description |

| Proportionally by Item Direct Cost | Distributes your adds/cuts proportionally into your current estimate's pay items, based on each item's direct cost. Items with higher total direct cost will absorb more of the distributed value than items with lower total direct cost. |
| Proportionally by Item Labor Cost | Distributes your adds/cuts proportionally into your current estimate's pay items, based on each item's labor cost. Items with higher labor cost will absorb more of the distributed value than items with lower labor cost. |
| Proportionally by Item Equipment Cost | Distributes your adds/cuts proportionally into your current estimate's pay items, based on each item's equipment cost. Items with higher equipment cost will absorb more of the distributed value than items with lower equipment cost. |
| Evenly Across Items Specified Below | Distributes your adds/cuts evenly across the selected pay items. Each item absorbs exactly the same dollar amount of the distributed value. |
| By Percents Specified Below | Lets you enter the distribution percent for each item. Your adds/cuts will be distributed into your current estimate's pay items by the percents that you specify below. |
Items to Distribute Into

| All items | B2W Estimate will distribute your adds/cuts to ALL pay items. |
| Selected items | B2W Estimate will distribute your adds/cuts to only the items that you select below. When selecting items, you may filter your item list by work type, phase, or alternate. |
Values cannot be distributed into suppressed items, therefore suppressed items are not displayed on the item list.
