Estimate Options - Grouping - Hierarchical Grouping

The Hierarchical Grouping page in Estimate Options allows you to create and manage multi-level grouping schemes for items and components within the current estimate.

Estimate Options, Grouping, Hierarchical Grouping

To navigate to this page of the dialog, select the Edit & Tools command tab and select Options > Estimate Options. Then select Grouping > Hierarchical Grouping.

The Estimate Options version of the Hierarchical Grouping page allows you to create grouping schemes which can be used to group the items and/or components within your current estimate. The groupings you create here may be selected on the Item Listing tab, the Estimate Detail tab, and the Item Pricing tab by choosing "(Multi-Group)" within the Group By combo box near the top of the screen.

  2. Type a name for your hierarchical grouping.

If you are working with the Basic edition of B2W Estimate, the Show dropdown is inactive and displays only System Properties.

  3. To delete a grouping, select the Delete button.

Select this when you need to permanently delete the currently selected hierarchical grouping.

The settings on any page in Estimate Options reflect the properties or dictate the behavior of the current estimate only. Your global settings, that set the default properties and behavior of all new estimates you create, are stored on the corresponding page in the Options dialog.
