Options Dialog - Cost Components, Crews, General page

The Crews, General page allows you to establish default configuration settings for all new crew templates created in Resources without affecting existing templates.

To navigate to this section of the Options dialog, select the Edit & Tools tab, select Options (Options > Tools Options in the Estimate area), and open Cost Components > Crews > General.

Use the Crews, General page to configure default settings that will be applied when you create new crew templates in Resources. You can change these settings within individual crew templates later on.

Changes to these default settings will not affect existing crew templates but will be applied to templates you create going forward.

You can configure crew default settings as follows:

Options for Crews

Two options that affect crews are listed below the Default Values section. Select one or both check boxes as needed. The options are:

  • Calculate crew days accounting for production hours when production method uses man hours
  • Use efficiency factors in crew days calculations

About Efficiency Factors

For any production method you choose:

  • The efficiency factor will be greater than 100% if a crew is more productive than the default production rate. As the efficiency factor increases, the time required to complete the work decreases.
  • The efficiency factor will be less than 100% if a crew is less productive than the default production rate. As the efficiency factor decreases, the time required to complete the work increases.
