Options Dialog - Grouping - Filter Grouping

Create and manage shared filtering schemes to selectively display items and components across the Item Listing, Estimate Detail, and Item Pricing tabs.

To navigate to this section of the Options dialog, select the Edit & Tools tab, select Options (Options > Tools Options in the Estimate area), and open Grouping > Filter Grouping.

The Filter Grouping page allows you to create an unlimited number of shared filtering schemes which can be reused as often as needed to filter the items and/or components within your estimates. To use the filters you create here on the Item Listing tab, the Estimate Detail tab, and the Item Pricing tab, choose "(Multiple)" within the Show Items combo box near the top of the screen.

Create a new shared filter

  1. Select New.
  2. Type a name for your shared filter.
  3. Select OK.

Configure the behavior of a shared filter

  1. Select the shared filter whose settings you want to configure.
  2. Under the section labeled "Filter By Options", select the options by which you want to filter. You can select an option and select Add or double-select the desired option. You can also filter the list of available options to show system properties, tags, or both.
  3. After you add options to the Detail for section, you can select the values — and in some cases subvalues — on which your shared filter will be applied.

Copy an existing shared filter

Select Copy to create a copy of the currently selected shared filter. Use this button to save time in creating new shared filters which are similar to your existing shared filters. Once you've copied a shared filter, you can rename the copy and configure its detail as you see fit.

Rename a shared filter

Select a filter and select Rename to rename an existing shared filter.

Delete a shared filter

Select Delete when you need to permanently delete the currently selected shared filter.
