Promote or demote a comment

You can promote a comment to the answer (RFIs) or resolution (other record types) for a record. Similarly, you can demote the answer or resolution back to a comment.

These actions are available if you have to promote or demote comments (see the Records section of Permissions guide).

Note: Only comments with text can be promoted. Linked items cannot be promoted.

Promote a comment

You can promote a comment.

To promote a comment:

Responses can be promoted to Partial answers and then integrated as a whole response to an RFI.

  1. In the full record, select the Comments tab.
  2. On the comment card, select (More) > Promote.
  3. When prompted, select Promote.
    The comment is marked as an Answer.

    The comment is marked as an Answer or Partial answer.

Note: If the answer or resolution already exists, you will be prompted to confirm that you want to replace it with the current comment.

Promote a message

You can promote messages.

To promote a message:
  1. On the message card, select (More) > Promote.
  2. When prompted, select Promote.
    The message is copied to the Comments tab as the Answer or Resolution.

Demote an answer or resolution

You can demote an answer or resolution.

To demote an answer or a resolution:
  1. In the full record, select the Comments tab.
  2. On the Answer or Resolution card, select (More) > Demote.
  3. When prompted, select Demote.
The answer or resolution is returned to a comment.
