Edit a Managed User's Username

Change a Managed user's username and send new login credentials.

You must have the Manage Users permission.
Use this procedure when you need to change a Managed user's username suffix.
  1. Select Settings > User Management.
The User Management page opens showing a list of all users in the enterprise.
  2. Use the Search and filter options to narrow the list of users shown.
    1. To search for a specific user by name, enter that person's name, or a portion of their name, in the Search field.
    2. To filter the list of users by role, license type, access level, or log in type, use the dropdown fields above the Users grid. If your enterprise has multiple companies, you can also filter by company.
Tip: When filtering by role, license, or company, you can select more than one item from the dropdown field.
  3. Select a Managed user from the list to open their profile.
Tip: Managed users are tagged with the Managed Users icon.
  4. Select Edit User.
  5. Beside Username, select Edit.
    The Edit Username modal opens.
  6. Review the read-only Name and Primary Company fields and the Updating Username banner.
Important: Updating username will send a new login invite and will require new password.
  7. Adjust the Username after the read-only short code prefix.
For more information about the short code prefix, see Configure Managed Users.
  8. Set or select Generate for the Temporary Password.
The user will be required to change password at next login.
  9. Under Select notification method, choose how to deliver the new credentials:
    • Notify via text message: enter a Phone Number.
    • Notify via email: enter a required Email.
  10. Select Save.
The Managed user receives a new login invite with the updated username and temporary password according to the notification method you selected.
