Place an order / send an RFQ

When you have added items to an order or RFQ, you can place the order or send the RFQ.

When you have added the required items to an order or RFQ and selected CONTINUE, the order summary dialog opens. Continue with the order process.

If you saved and closed the draft order / RFQ, open it from Orders / My Drafts.

  1. If supplier information (Order From) was not selected when you created the order, you will need to add it now. Select UPDATE FIELDS, deselect the Skip supplier selection option, and select the required supplier(s) or warehouse(s) from the Order From dropdown. Select UPDATE.
  2. Add or update any of the following information:
    • A custom quote number.
    • A custom PO #.
    • The Ship to information, such as Job Site, Warehouse, or custom address.
    • The Delivery method (delivery or pickup).
    • The delivery date and time.
    • A Jobsite contact.
    • The Truck type.
    • Delivery instructions.
    • General notes.
    • Optionally, select CC me in supplier email. This is useful to ensure that RFQ creators receive copies of emails that are sent to suppliers, so the RFQ creator can communicate with the supplier(s) via email.
    • Select or deselect Send PO with Prices to Supplier. Note this is not available for Rental order types.
Note: This will be unselected by default if the Don’t send POs with prices to suppliers option is selected under Settings / System Preferences / Orders / Email Messages.
  3. Do one of the following:
    • If you do not have permission to submit an order / RFQ, select REQUEST APPROVAL. The draft PO / RFQ is marked as Pending Approval and moves to Requisitions until it is approved. Once approved, it is marked as Approved and remains in Requisitions; from here, the order can be submitted.
    • If you have permission to do so, select PLACE ORDER or SEND RFQ. The order moves to Open orders, RFQs, or Rentals depending on the order type.
