WBS/Item Database Navigation Option

You now have the option, as part of your User Preferences in Tools Options, to select whether the “Item/WBS Database” button will first navigate you to Item Databases or WBS Databases the first time you select on it. For users who primarily work with WBS Databases this cuts out the need to load first an Item Database and then navigate to their WBS Database.

New Cost Component Icons

The icons for Labor, Equipment, Crews, Materials, and Miscellaneous cost components have been updated to be more visually distinct from one another to make quick identification of each cost component easier.

Performance Enhancements

Estimate 18.1 includes a number of targeted performance enhancements. These include changes to:

• Opening the Add Components dialog – the Add Components dialog in estimates and WBS Databases will now open faster than before, making it simpler to launch it when needed.
• Filtering Resources by Category and Work Type – The category filtering options for Labor, Equipment, Material, Miscellaneous, Task Templates, and Organizations, as well as the Work Type and Subtype filters for Task Templates now use the same approach as the new Search in Resources uses and will execute much faster than before on very large data sets.
• Restructuring WBS Databases – Actions such as deleting a WBS Level, copying a level between WBS Databases, moving a level, and adding new levels have been enhanced to complete much faster than before on very large data sets.
