Compare Quote Packages Dialog

Use the Compare Quote Packages dialog to evaluate and compare subcontractor and vendor quotes and quote packages across multiple RFQ groups.

Use the Compare Quote Packages dialog to evaluate and compare subcontractor and vendor quotes and quote packages across multiple RFQ groups.

In some situations, subcontractors and vendors who provide quotes over a number of RFQ groups will only agree to the job if all of the groups are awarded without allowing partial selections. To help you identify the RFQ groups that must be grouped together for these subcontractors and vendors, you can create "quote packages" that contain the required RFQ groups and then compare the quotes in this dialog.

You can also award the RFQ Groups to subcontractors and vendors from this dialog. A warning will be presented when trying to partially award the groups that belong to an RFQ Package.

Working with quote packages

A quote package contains one or more RFQ groups that a subcontractor or vendor specifies must be awarded together in order for them to accept the job. By default, all RFQ groups are allowed to be selected individually.

Create a quote package

  1. Select a subcontractor or vendor from the tree view on the left and click the Quote Packages button at the top right of the page. The Manage Quote Packages dialog opens listing all of the subcontractor's or vendor's RFQ groups they are bidding on.
  2. Click Create. The New Quote Package dialog opens.
  3. Enter a name for the quote package and click OK.
  4. The quote package appears in the list and you can add individual RFQ groups as needed.

Assign RFQ groups to a quote package

  1. In the Manage Quote Packages dialog, select the RFQ group you want to add to the package. You can also SHIFT + click on RFQ groups to select multiple.
  2. Click Assign.

Working with the Compare Quote Packages dialog

The Compare Quote Packages button is located at the bottom of the Manage Subcontractor RFQ Groups and Manage Vendor RFQ Groups areas when the RFQ Groups node is selected in tree.

Open the Compare Quote Packages dialog

  1. Click Compare Quote Packages.
  2. In the Manage RFQ Groups for Comparison dialog, select the RFQ groups you want to compare. The Compare Quote Packages dialog opens.
  3. Review quotes and place a check mark in the checkbox beside the quote you want to assign. By default, quotes are allowed to be selected individually unless they are part of a quote package.

Dialog view options

The Compare Quote Packages dialog has two view options:

  • Quote Package View — This view is selected by default. Subcontractors and vendors appear along the header row with individually selectable RFQ groups and quote packages below.
  • RFQ Group View — This view lists all RFQ groups in the left column with subcontractors and vendors quotes.
    • Show Plug Where Not Bidding — Select this checkbox to insert plug prices where quotes have not been provided.

Select RFQ groups

Place a check mark in the checkbox beside the RFQ groups and quote packages you want to select. RFQ groups in quote packages will not be individually selectable. Click OK. Selected subcontractors and vendors appear in bold type in the RFQ Groups tree view.
