Suppliers and supplier contacts

Add suppliers and supplier contacts to Trimble Materials to manage and track supplier-specific information for items that you regularly order from those suppliers. You can then submit orders or RFQs directly to specific suppliers, and communicate directly from within Trimble Materials with contacts for those suppliers.

Note: When you add a supplier to Trimble Materials, you are technically adding a branch of a supplier, not the supplier parent company. You can have multiple branches of a supplier, all added as stand-alone branches.

If your Trimble Materials account is integrated with an ERP, you should not add suppliers from within Trimble Materials; you should instead import suppliers from your ERP. This ensures that the supplier records in Trimble Materials are connected to those in your accounting or project management systems, and that they will be able to sync with associated records such as purchase orders and invoices.

If your Trimble Materials account is not directly linked to another system, suppliers and supplier contacts can be added by searching the Supplier Xchange network, imported into the system using an Excel spreadsheet, or created manually.

Active supplier contacts appear in your order flow, enabling you to request quotes, submit requisitions as purchase orders, and receive invoices.
